A 32-year-old man has been charged with a total of nine offences, including rape and kidnap, following an incident where a 17-year-old girl was serious assaulted in Epsom last night.

Costica Voedes, of the High Street in Epsom, has been charged with two counts of wounding with intent, two counts of rape, kidnap, false imprisonment, possession of an offensive weapon, affray and common assault.

The charges relate to a number of incidents which took place shortly after 10.30pm on Friday, 17 June at Pizza Hut in Waterloo Road and Court Recreation Ground in Epsom.

Voedes has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at South East Surrey Magistrates Court (Redhill) on Monday, 20 June.
