Dramatic footage of Camberley armed police arrest - Video
The Surrey Residents Network has obtained dramatic video footage of the moment armed police make an arrest in Camberley Town Centre yesturday evening at around 9.10pm.
Video footage shows an individual on the floor surrounded by Police Officers from the Armed Response Unit.
In an earlier statement by Surrey Police it is reported that a man was threatened with what was believed to be a weapon during the altercation which officers recovered at the scene and turned out to be imitation.
Detective Sergeant Dave Bentley, said: “Surrey Police takes this kind of incident extremely seriously and we will not tolerate this kind of behaviour within our neighbourhoods.
“The victim was exposed to a very frightening and traumatic experience and I would urge any witnesses or anyone with any information in relation to this unprovoked incident who has not already spoken to officers to contact Surrey Police. Any information, however small it may seem, could assist with the investigation into the circumstances.
“A large number of officers were deployed to the area and we are aware that there may be speculation as to whether this incident may have any link to terrorism. I would like to reassure local residents that we are not treating this as being the case.”
Three men and one woman aged between 17 & 19 years old were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear and threats to kill.
