Officers investigating a daytime attempted robbery in Egham on Monday, 20 March have released an e-fit image of a man they would like to speak to.

The incident took place when the teenage victim was walking along the underpass under the M25 from the Manorcroft estate through to Egham Leisure Centre car park in Vicarage Road between 4pm and 4.10pm.

It is reported that the victim saw one of the suspects give a signal to two others who then approached him and asked him for money. One said, “Don’t make me use this knife” so the victim showed them his empty wallet. They took his mobile phone before arguing whether they needed a phone before handing it back. The group then told the victim to leave and as he was walking away was then asked for cigarettes. The victim replied, “No’ and continued walking through the underpass. At the end he saw a fourth male on a bike who then cycled to the remaining group in the underpass.

The four suspects involved are all described as being white males in their late teens:

  • The first male is aged around 18-19, around 6ft 1” and of a slim build. He was wearing a dark coloured tracksuit with the hood up, a black scarf covering part of his face and black gloves.
  • The second male is aged around 18-19, around 5ft 11”, of a slim build with a spotty face. He was wearing a black tracksuit with the hood up and dark coloured gloves.
  • The third male is aged around 18-19, between 5ft 8” and 5ft 10” and of a slim build. He was wearing non-woollen gloves with knuckle guards.
  • The fourth male who was on the bike is aged around 17 and wearing a black tracksuit with the hood up.

PC Jess Perry investigating said:

“This incident was understandably a frightening ordeal for the victim and we are determined to find those responsible and have been carrying out a number of enquiries to track them down.
