Guildford Design Awards 2017
Cllr Paul Spooner, Leader of Guildford Borough Council says: “A wide range of projects are eligible for entry into Guildford Borough Council’s Design Awards which are open to anyone, including architects, house-builders, developers, contractors, schools, voluntary associations, individuals and homeowners or designers who have contributed recently to a scheme within the borough. The awards are a way of celebrating the contribution of innovative design and sustainability to the built environment within our borough.”
The types of design that can be entered (although your entry is not restricted to these categories) include new buildings that can be residential, commercial, community, educational, health, infrastructure or industrial in purpose. Alterations to existing buildings, including extensions, refurbishment, repairs, conversions or the restoration of a building that has been brought back to life, can also be entered into the competition. Lastly, public and private open spaces, including parks, gardens, pedestrian or play or recreational areas that are of great design and that contribute to the character of the surrounding area are also eligible.
To qualify, nominated projects need to have been completed between June 2015 and 9 June 2017. The building or scheme must be within the Guildford Borough boundary; however, the person or organisation making the nomination may be located outside of the borough.
An online entry form and competition details can be found on our Guildford Design Awards web page.
Applications for this free to enter competition need to be submitted by 9 June, with the winners being announced in November 2017.
