WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT: Did you witness assault at the Crown & Anchor Pub in Woking which left man requiring serious head surgery?
Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault at The Crown and Anchor Pub in Old Woking on Easter Sunday (Sunday 16 April) which left a man with a facial injury that required major surgery.
The incident happened in the smoking area of the pub between 11pm and 11.45pm. It is reported that the victim was enjoying a drink with some friends when he was punched to the face by an unknown man.
Detective Constable Tina Stewartson from West Surrey Criminal Investigation Department, said: “This was a violent and seemingly unprovoked attack which has caused the victim life changing injuries.
“The force of the punch damaged a nerve in the victim’s face and he had to undergo surgery to correct the nerve plus was fitted with three plates to his face.”
“This happened on a busy night with numerous people enjoying the disco held at the pub and I believe there would have been a number of people who witnessed the attack who could assist our investigation.”
