Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a violent assault in Walton-on-Thames.

The incident took place in Elm Grove Recreation Ground, off Highfield Road, between 7pm and 8pm on Friday, 28 April.

It is reported that an altercation involving young people took place which resulted in a teenage boy requiring hospital treatment for a laceration to his arm

Detective Constable Hannah Clarke, from North Surrey CID, said: “This incident took place at a busy time of day and we believe that other park users or pedestrians may have seen something.

“I would urge anyone who saw an altercation take place to please get in touch immediately – any details could help us piece together the circumstances surrounding the events.

“Similarly, anyone with any information should do the right thing and talk to us so we can progress the investigation and bring any offenders to justice. If you don’t want to give your details the independent charity
