Did you witness assault and attempted kidnap in Chertsey?
Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses following a violent assault and attempted kidnap in Chertsey on the afternoon of Friday 5 May.
Between the hours of 4pm and 5.45pm a man in his early 20s was walking down the alleyway off Eastworth Road opposite the Tesco Express when he was approached from behind by a man who assaulted him and attempted to get him into a vehicle.
Detective Constable Victoria Kilburn from North Surrey Criminal Investigation Department, said: “”I would urge anyone who saw an altercation take place to please get in touch immediately – any details could help us piece together the circumstances surrounding the events.
“Similarly, anyone with any information should do the right thing and talk to us so we can progress the investigation and bring any offenders to justice. If you don’t want to give your details the independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
“This kind of behaviour has no place in our neighbourhoods and it’s something we won’t tolerate.”
