Council remembers dedicated tenant representative
11 May 2017
It is with sadness that Woking Borough Council has announced the death of dedicated tenant representative, June Weaver, who passed away at the end of April.
June devoted most of her free time to helping others. For years, June was a tenant representative for Woking Borough Council and subsequently became a resident board member for New Vision Homes (NVH). June worked closely with NVH representing residents views and was always the first person to volunteer when an event was being arranged.
She also played a key role in the Alpha Road Residents Association (ARTAL) in Maybury and worked tirelessly to ensure that the standards of the estates remained high, not just in Maybury, but across the Borough.
Cllr Anne Murray, Mayor of Woking, said: “June worked hard over the years for her fellow residents of Woking through several residents associations and as a local tenant representative. She was ever-present and always happy to offer her time to help others. Her passion, drive and commitment was unrivalled and will be impossible to replace. June will be greatly missed by all within the community.”
