Following the acquisition of The Mall Camberley by Surrey Heath Borough Council last November, work has now begun on the refurbishment.

The first stage of the development involves painting the high-level structure and will be followed with the main contractor starting on site in mid-summer.

The plans will provide a fresh, modern new look and include lighting, flooring, pilaster and facades, plus repainting the higher levels.

The first phase of the investment on Grace Reynolds Walk is due to be completed before Christmas. Phased work on the remaining areas will begin in early 2018 and will take place mostly outside trading hours to minimise any disruption to our customers and retailers.

The refurbishment scheme has been designed by award-winning architects Haskoll, who are renowned within the shopping centre industry.

Karen Whelan, Chief Executive of Surrey Heath Borough Council, said: “This is the start of an exciting phase of development in The Mall which is part of the Council’s longer term strategy of improving Camberley town centre for residents, visitors and businesses. We look forward to seeing the results!”

Glen Fulton, General Manager of The Mall Camberley said: ‘’We are excited to see the refurbishment starting, as are our retailers. We will ensure our customers continue to have an enjoyable shopping experience during the works.’’
