A man has appeared in court in connection with the death of a pedestrian in Guildford in August last year (2016).

Mark O’Donnell, aged 22, died on Saturday, 20 August when he was hit by a vehicle on Portsmouth Road, near to the junction with Turnham Close.

Sean Denham, 48, of Allen Road, Haywards Heath, West Sussex appeared at Guildford Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 16 May.

He is charged with death by careless driving, failing to stop and failing to report an accident. He has been bailed to next appear at Guildford Crown Court on June 13.
