Detectives investigating a ram raid on a clothing shop in Oxted are re-appealing for witnesses to come forward.

In the early hours of Wednesday, 5 April two men used a vehicle stolen in the Lewes area of Sussex on 3 April to break into Gas Station on Station Road East. It resulted in significant damage and thousands of pounds worth of clothing was stolen.

A 44–year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident, he was released form police custody but remains under investigation.

Detective Constable Elliott Abdo said: “We are continuing our investigation into this ruthless incident that has considerably impacted both the owner of the stolen vehicle and the devastated business owners.

“The offenders are both described as being 6ft tall, of a large build wearing blue jeans and balaclavas. The first offender wore a green hooded top, the second offender wore a black jacket or hooded top. 

“I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw a White Land Rover 110 Defender with the registration F197NWK in the Tandridge area between 3 April and the early hours of 5 April.

“Anyone with information should call Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference 45170034774 or use the online reporting system https://report.police.uk/.
