Surrey Police attended an attempted robbery at a bank on Station Road, Redhill this afternoon.

Officers were called to the bank at 3.45pm following reports that a man entered the building and made threats with a knife to a member of the public.

A customer suffered minor injuries to his hand. The suspect then left the bank and nothing was stolen.

Two men were arrested in connection with the incident at the railway station and taken into police custody. A small knife has also been recovered.

Due to the incident there is an increased police presence in the area, this is nothing to be concerned about.
