The 148th Imperial Meeting got underway today at the National Shooting Centre with International Army Shooting Teams competing against each other in the Rural Contact Matches.

Over the next 5 weeks some of the worlds best shooters will compete for the most prestigious prizes in the sport.

During the meeting there will be international shooters representing the military, the cadets and civilian shooting clubs participating in a wide range of shooting disciplines.

The annual meeting is in its 148th year which has been continual except during the two world wars. It culminates with the final for The Queen’s Prize on 22 July 2017 where 100 of the best shots from the meeting compete for the biggest prize in the world of shooting and the winner famously ‘Chaired off Stickledown Range’.
