The networking breakfast, which was introduced by the leader of the council Cllr Paul Spooner, included presentations by Steve White, Director of Resources at the Council. Steve presented details of major Council procurement projects over the next two years; his talk was followed by an in-depth look at top tips and how to bid successfully to local authorities from Nathaniel Burrows, the Council’s Procurement Officer.

Colin Davies, Director of Procurement at the University of Surrey also provided an in-depth presentation on the procurement priorities of the University, and the importance to them of pre-procurement research and early market engagement.

After the event, visitors had the chance to view the Surrey Business Expo. The networking session was organised by the Economic Development team at Guildford Borough Council, who work with local businesses to encourage economic growth through knowledge, innovation and creativity.
