Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses following a serious collision which happened yesterday (Tuesday, 20 June) just after 5.30pm.

The collision, which took place on the southbound carriageway of the A23 London Road where the road splits with the M23, involved a cyclist and a red Renault Clio.

The cyclist, a man in his 40s, was taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting by air ambulance with serious head injuries.

The road was closed whilst emergency services were in attendance.
