Surrey Police were called at 04:50 this morning to junction 3 (Lightwater) of the M3 where sadly a man’s body was found. It is believed that the body had been there for a number of hours and had not been discovered earlier due to overnight closures. The death is not thought to be suspicious. The man has yet to be formally identified, but his family have been informed.

Highways England have imposed a short diversion on the Northbound carriageway of the M3 which passes over the Junction 3 roundabout using the sliproads. Vehicles approaching the junction from Lightwater trying to join the Northbound M3 are being diverted via Junction 4. This is impacting on Northbound and local traffic and drivers are asked for their patience passing through the area.
