VIDEO: Surrey leader on savings and better deals
Surrey leader David Hodge used a meeting of Cabinet today to stress the need for the county council to save more than £100 million this financial year alone to balance the budget while also highlighting planned new contracts for carers that will see support provided to an extra 300 young people at no extra cost and proposed new deals for bus services that include improved routes.

Unfortunately I do not see how slashing the grass cutting budget £72k will be an improvement. This will endanger surrey residents lives. Also not doing the litter pick on the A24 will go against to tories line i.e. Caring about our environment.
Slashing the recycling centres budget by a further 2 million will worsen traffic congestion because you will make people travel further which will also have an effect on air quality. Also you run the risk of flytipping going up.
Why is the Conservative Cllrs not pushing back on our MP sir Paul forcing the government to give surrey residents a fairer funding deal instead of sending our residents money back up north.
A message to All Conservative cllrs in Mole Valley STOP rolling over to the government and accepting everything push back.
