This July Camberley will be turned into a seaside paradise with the return of the Love Camberley Big Day Out.

On Saturday July 15, Camberley Town Centre will be transformed into the seaside when an urban beach arrives on Park Street. Accompanied by a Climbing Wall, Bungee Run and a Surf Simulator there will certainly be fun for everyone to enjoy.

Throughout the day there will also be a variety of performances from the very reputable Covent Garden performers, along with plenty of live music across the town. Sit back and relax at the Camberley Theatre Live Stage located on High Street which will be packed full of performances from local musicians and be sure not to miss the delightful sounds of Camberley Youth Wind Orchestra over on Park Street.

Wander through the Farmers’ and Artisan Market on High Street to sample some of Surrey’s best fresh and local produce. With everything from candles to cupcakes and fruit to fudge, there will be plenty to get stuck into on the day. You will also be able to preview some of the cars which will be attending the upcoming Camberley Car Show 2017 event which takes place on Saturday August 19.

Over on Park Street, there will be lots to keep the little ones entertained with a wide range of free activities on the day including an urban beach, face painting, arts and crafts and even a petting zoo. Along with these activities there will also be performances throughout the event from the Camberley Rock Choir who were a big hit at the Christmas Lights Switch On back in November. All activities will be free of charge on the day as the event is paid for by the towns local businesses as part of the Business Improvement District (BID).

BID Manager for Collectively Camberley, Lucy Boazman said:

“With Camberley’s Big Day Out event back for the 3rd time we are pleased to see its growth continue for another year. This popular event is a great way to promote our local businesses and showcase what Camberley has to offer; whilst also offering a wide variety of free fun activities for all ages on the day. Our aim is to ensure everyone enjoys the event and to attract more people from across Surrey to show exactly why people Love Camberley.”

Collectively Camberley came together as a not-for-profit organisation when it was voted by local businesses that the Town should adopt a Business Improvement District (BID), in October 2011 and again at the BID renewal in July 2016. The Collectively Camberley BID has been in operation for 5 years, delivering improvements in projects and services on an annual basis that local businesses said they wanted to see for their area. Camberley Businesses have invested over £1.3 million over five years to increase footfall, improve business performance and make Camberley Town Centre a brighter, busier, and better managed town. The BID team are responsible for popular events such as Camberley’s Rooftop Film Festival, The Camberley Car Show (Aug 19) and The Christmas Light Switch On (Nov 18)
