Seeking witnesses after attempted moped robbery in Tadworth
We’re looking for witnesses after two men attempted to steal a moped from another man on Preston Lane in Tadworth on Thursday, 13 July at around 9:30pm.
The victim, who was on his moped, visited Budgens on Preston Lane where he noticed two men on another moped. After leaving the shop, the men followed the victim and pulled alongside him, shouting to hand over his bike. The victim refused and mounted the pavement to drive off but was struck on the arm with a metal object. They then followed the victim onto Chetwode Road where police were dealing with an unrelated incident. Upon seeing the police, the suspects made off in the direction of Broad Walk.
The men are described as young, one wearing a grey/green hoodie, the other wearing a grey hoodie and both had their faces covered. Neither of the males were wearing helmets. Their moped is described as a dark coloured Vespa-style bike with a box on the back and a foreign number plate.
