Sport and Leisure was the subject up for debate in the latest #TalkSurreyHeath online Q & A event last week, 24 July 2017.

Surrey Heath residents and business owners had the opportunity to quiz Surrey Heath Borough Council (SHBC) officers and councillors about the topic during the session, which streamed live from Surrey Heath House on the Council’s Facebook Page, (www.facebook.com/SurreyHeath). The video of the hour long session is now available to view.

The panel for the event consisted of Leader of the Council, Cllr Moira Gibson, SHBC Chief Executive Karen Whelan, Surrey Heath Executive Head of Business Daniel Harrison and Cllr Craig Fennell, Portfolio Holder for Business.

They answered questions on a wide range of subjects during the hour long event, including the future of the Arena Leisure Centre and swimming pool, children’s playground equipment, the Surrey Youth Games and Camberley Theatre.

Before and during the event, questions were submitted via Facebook, Twitter, or email on [email protected]

The Council is organising these innovative online events to encourage as many residents, business owners and interested parties to have their say on issues that are important to them.

Cllr Gibson said: “Sport and Leisure is a subject which Surrey Heath residents are passionate about, and it was good to hear their views and answer their questions directly during the latest #TalkSurreyHeath event.

“We have received positive feedback and engagement from the public on these events so far, and look forward to the next one in the autumn.”
