Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted following his intervention in an argument between a couple.

The incident happened on Saturday July 29 at around 6.20pm in Linden Road, Leatherhead.

A man intervened in an argument between a man and a woman and was then attacked by a separate group of men. All those involved left the area before police arrived. The man suffered head injuries and has since been discharged from hospital.

PC Joe Brown said: “If you saw what happened, or know those who were involved please let us know as we are trying to establish the circumstances of this incident.”
